Cats:

Cats are very different than dogs or people. They cannot be given some of the most common
medications for pain relief due to toxicity.

DO NOT GIVE:

• Aspirin
• Tylenol(Acetaminophen)
• Advil (Ibprofen)
• Aleve(Naproxin)
• Motrin(Ibprofen)
• ANY NON STEROIDAL MEDICATION!!!

Frequently prescribed pain medications:

• Tramadol
• Buprenorphine/Buprenex
• Torbugesic
• Fentanyl Patch

Pain medication should allow your pet to rest comfortably. They should be comfortable enough to get
up and use the litter box and eat. Pain medications can also cause sedation, agitiation, vomiting. Should
any of these occur please notify us immediately so we can make appropriate adjustments.
